Gabriela Uchuya during a "walk around" hung her presentation from a tree

Promotoras de Salud: Community Health Education

Siempre Salud colored logo - cropped 2 2015-08-30We educate the community in various ways: organized events (announced classes with fixed dates and times), “kiosks” that have one or more fixed locations in the community that are open all day (to engage passers-by), and “walk arounds” (a moving classroom that operates all day and moves from block to block). A good way to do the “walk around” is to select a block then select a house with a willing participant and ask her to assemble a few of her neighbors. We print educational materials on vinyl (for “walk arounds” and “kiosks”), and can display to a projector connected to a computer (for classroom presentations), or give one-on-one presentations from a tablet computer or other mobile device.
